Per my last review, we skipped the "specialty" drinks and ordered a Manhattan. It was served with a Maraschino cherry. We forgot to see if they have Luxardo cherries.
Apple Salad with Honey Apple Vinaigrette on the side. Vinaigrette scares me pretty bad so I always get it on the side. Sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised, but most times I'm just counting my blessings. A little vinaigrette goes a long way. This was a nice version and a little was plenty.
Also got the Pecan Brittle on the side because Brittle. But...it was awesome. Softer than normal brittle and more of a baked granola maybe. Really good!
Lobster Thermidor Burger. We went with the fries since the Au Gratin potatoes were also Au Onions. (Ar ar, as Mork would say.) We ordered it Medium and will probably go with Medium Rare next time.
As we hone in on a good order for us, GFC is working its way to 5 stars from us. -

YES!!! I've been meaning to eat at Grand Floridian Cafe for a long time, and I'm so glad we made the decision to book a reservation here for breakfast on our first morning. It was wonderful!
To start, it's hard to beat the grandeur of the Grand Floridian (grand is in the name). It's a gorgeous resort that's just a monorail stop away from the Magic Kingdom. Grand Floridian Cafe lives up to the Grand Floridian name. The beautiful victorian era architecture and classical vibe makes it a cheery place to start your morning.
Breakfast options here are plentiful, and I have to admit I had trouble deciding exactly what I wanted to eat. While we were deciding, our server brought over some fresh [warm] biscuits with citrus butter, which almost spoiled my appetite right away (I couldn't stop eating them). Ultimately, my wife went for the chicken and waffles (which were incredible), while I went for the classic Mickey waffle (a bit cliche but in my defense it had been a while since I had one and it was our first morning there... seemed appropriate). Neither disappointed!
For drinks, you'll find an assortment of breakfast beverages (including plenty of cocktails to start your day). That being said, the group of us decided on coffee and almost went through 2 pots between the two of us. Our server even offered us coffee to go at no extra cost, which I gladly accepted as we headed over to the Magic Kingdom.
Speaking of our server, service here was terrific! Our waiter was warm, attentive, and even a bit entertaining. Quite the Disney Cast Member! Without a doubt, I'll be visiting Grand Floridian Cafe again for breakfast and am considering trying it for lunch or dinner as well. -

*** Disclaimer- I originally planned to write a 1 star review but management and the food itself made up for it. I think the main issue lies within the Grand Floridian itself and the Cafe just has to deal with it.***
On a rainy night, the night of my birthday, we came to see if there were any open reservations for dinner as room service was down for hours due to a huge lightening storm. Of course it was packed and they told us it would be an hour and a half wait. We did find a closer reservation time through the My Disney app so we made one for 8:35, about 30 minutes from when we originally inquired. When we came up for our reservation time, we were told we would have to wait..more. Never in my life have I had to wait 45 minutes after the reservation time to even be sat. Note that the time they close is 9:15 PM so the additional time would have pushed it over after the place closed.
After speaking with the host stand multiple times, it seemed like the restaurant would stay open late but they "couldn't do anything" about the fact they had reservation spots opened yet could seat us until 45 minutes after that time. It was 9PM, I was sick, it was my birthday and the weather was crap so we had no other options other then going to the fast service place in the hotel. The craziest part was there were empty unbused tables and they just didn't have the man power to push two tables together. No pleas to the front staff did anything but luckily, our bell hop from a few days before saw us and went to talk to the manager, who quickly put together two tables and we finally got sat.
In my opinion, storms happen in Florida almost every day. If the restaurant can't handle more guests, remove the reservation slots online. Everyone may say "plan ahead, get an earlier table" but our plan was to do a fireworks boat cruise which obviously didn't work due to the storm.
The manager did make it up by coming over promptly to comp 2 appetizers and a bottle of wine. From there, our waitress was attentive and we had a good time inside. The food wasn't crazy special but I enjoyed my ravioli and my friends enjoyed their onion soup. Only food complaint was my boyfriend asked for medium rare steak and they definitely served him medium well. They even gave us a free birthday cupcake at the end which was excellent. -

A fairly classy restaurant with great service. The food leaves a little bit to be desired.
To start, we tried both the fried mozzarella and the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp cocktail was exactly what you'd expect, which isn't a bad thing. The mozzarella was a fancy attempt at mozzarella sticks that just didn't really add any depth.
For entrees, the Sirloin and Scallops was solid, but the sides were very bland - smallest asparagus I've ever seen and some scalloped potatoes that had almost zero flavor.
This wasn't a bad meal, it just didn't get much beyond average anywhere on the menu. -

For lunch, we dined at the Grand Floridian Cafe and I'm sad to say this was a mistake. We were seated right away and our server came over to welcome us. We explained that the kids can't sit for too long and why then asked if we could have a speedier meal. He assured us this would be fine.
We ordered appetizers, entrees, and 1 dessert to go. Our meal itself took an hour and a half which was longer than we hoped for. On top of that we hardly saw our server and when we did the bill was incorrect. It took another 20 minutes to have a manager correct it.
The next morning I realized that my dining plan points were incorrect. We spoke to the concierge who was going to have the restaurant manager call me back. In the afternoon, we went back to the concierge who went and corrected the issue for us. I definitely wouldn't return to this restaurant.
